A ninth person has died on Manus Island.
Australian health care and service providers are leaving in 30 days, and more people will be at even greater serious health if we do not #EvacuateNow and #BringThemHere
54 people have left Manus Island and Nauru for the US including mainly single women and a small number of families who are together, thankfully. But the resettlment is taking too long! They can't stay there and wait.
Two thousand people remain: 169 children and 1783 people are already assessed to be refugees, with no hope or prospects of resettlement, anywhere.
Those left behind include some families with immediate family members who are permanent residents of Australia and we must keep them together and #BringThemHere
It is time to end the system of abuse and bring people to safety in our community.
The Australian Government has been avoiding facing the reality of its own policy crisis. Now, we, as a community, must show them the way forward.
Our movement shows that more people than ever support people seeking asylum.

Call Bill Shorten MP today. Ask him to show leadership and call for the immediate evacuation of people on Manus & Nauru to safety in Australia and take a stand to reunite families.

- State your name and let the person know who you are
- Ask to speak with Bill Shorten and/or leave a message
- Think carefully about your ask and make your pitch
- Ask Bill Shorten’s Labor party to stay true to it’s values; bring everyone on Manus and Nauru here and keep families together in Australia
- Don’t rush and don’t worry about impatient staff – just stay relaxed, clear and polite.
- Ask the staffer what they think - this helps open the conversation
- Thank them for passing on the message
